LUCY ANGLIN

FABRIC SCULPTURES

Welcome to Lucy Anglin's online art portfolio. Her unique fabric sculptures have a bronze-like weather resistant finish. The whimsical pieces add a touch of elegance and playfulness to any setting.

CREATIVE PROCESS

To create her unique pieces, Lucy gathers much of her inspiration from materials at hand - sometimes incorporating nature’s treasures, travel momentos, grandmother’s lace, and any other natural fiber materials.  She creates a wire armature that is reinforced with aluminum foil to sculpt a shapely body. Then fabric strips are dipped into the Powertex Fabric Hardener and draped around the frame to solidify and preserve the shape. Finally she adds her decorative touch. The result of her process is that there will never be any two alike! It is exciting to watch each sculpture take on its own personality as she creates them with a little touch of her imagination and a large dose of her passion for life!

The bronze-like finish compliments other artwork and adds an elegant and timeless feeling to any setting. Since Powertex is weather resistant, some of these unique sculptures can be displayed as outdoor garden art.
